Tempe, Arizona - Industrial Fiber Optics (IFO) is now manufacturing and marketing top-of-the-line Sercos fiber optic cables direct to end users as well as to distributors. The company has long been a primary supplier of custom fiber optic patch cords to industry, but previously didn't direct-market these products.
The marketing change will:
- reduce the cost of Sercos fiber networks
- provide customers with the options of custom fiber lengths to suit specific applications
- allow second sourcing of critical components
- reduce customers- lead time
IFO's standard product line of Sercos cables duplicates the Sercos requirements for either "inside" or "outside-component enclosure" applications. Fiber cables recommended "for-outside" the enclosure are designated 2090-SCVPx-x by Allen-Bradley, and IF-635-x-x by IFO. Those "inside" the enclosure are Allen-Bradley 2090-SCEPx-x, and IFO IF-636-x-x series.
IFO makes all patch cords from Eska™ Premier fiber cable terminated on both ends with top quality all-stainless steel SMA 905 ROHS compliant fiber optic connectors. Assembly processes and materials significantly exceed industry-standard specifications for cables. This includes using special epoxy to bond core/cladding to stainless steel ferrules, and adhesive-lined heat shrink to bond Kevlar« strength members to the fiber connector. All cables include strain relief components on both ends to minimize stress.
The IF-635 series patch cord utilizes GHTT4001 fiber cable, a dual-jacket cable featuring PVC outer and PE inner jackets. This cable includes a layer of Kevlar« to enhance strength. The IF-636 series offers GHCP4001 cable. The optical fiber core in both cables uses Eska™ Premier 980 Ám diameter PMMA core with a 10 Ám layer of cladding. Find detailed specifications for both fiber cables on the IFO web site here.
The IF-635 and IF-636 product line offers cable lengths from .1 to 60 meter(s) in length, as well as options for custom lengths.
