Tempe, Arizona - Jan 20, 2009 - Arizona-based Industrial Fiber Optics (IFO) has moved its engineering, manufacturing and administrative operations to a new stand-alone facility at 1725 W. 1st St. in Tempe where the firm is based.
IFO specializes in engineering, manufacture and distribution of fiber optic products. Its core markets are automation, industrial, medical and sensor operations worldwide. Its new facility includes a clean room specifically designed for fabricating medical assemblies.
Randy Dahl, IFO president, said purchase of the new 15,000-square-foot building will help accommodate the firm's steady growth. "It seems like only yesterday in 1989 that I started Industrial Fiber Optics when I was a young engineer, "Dahl said. "From first manufacturing fiber optic educational products in a spare room of my house, we've come a long way."
From those early days IFO has expanded its product line to include a complete offering of plastic optical fiber and products intended for use with plastic fiber. It offers a full range of expertise to meet all design challenges in this fast-growing field, and complements that expertise with its engineer-friendly Web site that includes both data and full pricing information for all components offered.
In addition to manufacturing its own array of value added fiber optic and laser-related components, IFO is an authorized reseller of fiber optic goods from industry giants such as Mitsubishi Rayon.
